A Real Monarch Story – Right Here in San Leandro
Evergreen Nursery’s own Brenda Pineda brought home one small pot of California Native Narrow Leaf Milkweed and quickly became a butterfly steward. Monarch eggs appeared, then caterpillars, then chrysalises, and finally a beautiful young butterfly that was released into our new Pollinator Garden on May 9th.
Enjoy the full story with photos on our blog, and come in to pick up your own native Milkweed plants. Narrow Leaf and Showy Milkweed varieties are both in stock now. Plant them this season, and you'll be supporting future generations of the local Western Monarch population.
Our local and independent garden center is open daily, 9:30 am–5:30 pm. We are located at 350 San Leandro Blvd, just one mile north of the San Leandro BART station.
